Frieren: The Long Journey

The Journey

You are Frieren, casting spells northward toward Aureole. Click Cast Zoltraak to attack monsters and earn Mana. Defeat the monster to advance to the next floor.

Mana

Mana is your currency. Enemies drop it when defeated. Spend it on upgrades at the Rest spot to grow stronger.

Floors & Zones

Every 25 floors a new zone begins and a Boss guards the way forward. Occasional Elite enemies (gold border) appear between bosses — tougher, but worth more Mana.

HP & Resting

Enemies deal damage to you each second. Your HP regenerates slowly while in combat. Click the 🔥 Rest button to pause combat and spend Mana on upgrades — but HP does not regenerate while resting.

Analysis Phase

When a new monster appears, your party auto-attacks, filling the Mana Analysis bar. Cast Zoltraak to deal direct damage. Once the bar is full, the monster is Broken.

Break Phase

During Break, Zoltraak is unleashed — cast it as fast as you can for maximum damage. The break window lasts 4 seconds. Using Blase Flamme extends it by 3 seconds instead of dealing damage.

Focus & Vollzanbel Burst

Each click builds a Focus stack (max 5). When stacks are full, your next cast fires a Vollzanbel Burst — a powerful automatic strike. Stacks also build passively during analysis.

Blase Flamme

A charged spell on a cooldown. During Break it extends the window by 3 seconds instead of dealing damage.

How Boss Fights Work

Boss fights replace the normal analysis loop. A countdown begins, then the boss telegraphs an attack — watch the bar fill up. When it glows gold, click it to Parry.

Parry in time → attack window opens, deal free damage. Miss → the boss hits you for a chunk of your HP.

Don't click too early — clicking during the telegraph counts as a failed parry.

Spiegel — Floor 75

Spiegel fires reflections of your own magic back at you as projectile orbs. Click every orb before it crosses the screen. Deflect the whole volley to open an attack window. Miss one and take damage.

Volleys grow larger and faster as Spiegel's HP drops.

Floor 25 — Imp Lord · Random attacks
Floor 50 — Burial Warden · Fixed sequence — learn the pattern
Floor 75 — Spiegel · Projectile orbs (see above)
Floor 100 — Glacial Archfiend · Mix of fast and slow attacks
Floor 125 — Aura the Guillotine · Enrages at 40% HP — parry windows shrink
Floor 150 — Macht · Chains attacks back-to-back; rare Annihilation strike
Floor 175 — Ende · Sequence that accelerates every cycle

Spells

Increase your click damage, crit chance, and crit multiplier. These are your core damage upgrades — buy them first.

Party

Recruit Fern, Stark, Sein, and Wirbel to fight alongside you. Party members auto-attack every tick, filling the analysis bar faster and dealing extra damage. Recruiting costs a large upfront Mana investment.

Grimoires

Passive upgrades — things like an execute threshold (instakill low-HP enemies) and mana bonuses. Check this tab as you progress; new options open up at higher levels.

Items

Dropped by bosses. Open the Inventory tab in the rest screen to use them. Items grant temporary buffs — read the description before using so you don't waste them.

What is Prestige?

When your HP hits 0, you prestige — your Mana and all non-permanent upgrades reset and you restart from floor 1. In return, you earn Memories based on how far you reached.

Memories

Memories are a permanent currency. You can also prestige voluntarily from the Memories tab in the rest screen. The further you go before prestiging, the more Memories you earn.

Permanent Upgrades

Spend Memories on upgrades that persist across every prestige — increased max HP, faster regen, starting Mana, and more. These compound across runs and make each journey stronger than the last.
